BRIAN’S SERVICE:  Office Manager

 


SUMMARY
We are looking for a high energy,dynamic, and flexible hands-on individual for the day-to-day fiscal and other vendor and customer activities of our expanding landscaping business. This position is responsible for customer management, accounts receivable, onboarding new employees and overseeing employee ongoing training completion.  Position has growth potential within the company.  Human Resources experience a plus.  40 hr a week on site position.
 
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Perform general accounting duties that may include computer systems and processes for accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit cards, journal entries, bank reconciliations, cash transfers, invoicing, cash management, and timecards.

  • Check and review computer records and documentation to assure proper recording of financial transactions and the integrity of the accounting and payroll records.

  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to office management and supplies.  

  • Uphold State regulations appropriate to specific duties.

  • Be/become proficient with various software applications such as QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software, gmail, Google Docs, various State or Federal portals, and as others develop. 

  • Schedule Spring and Fall sprinkler system services with customers.

  • Be able to handle confidential information both professionally and personally.

  • Embrace existing and new technologies (i.e. accounting software, payroll software, email, spreadsheet,  and web applications related to all business operations) to become both effective and efficient with the specific duties of your position.

  • You will directly work with the Owner on a daily basis 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Experience using QuickBooks very desirable, but we will train.  Experience in data entry.   

  • Minimum Associates Degree in accounting or related field

TERMS

This is a 12-month position, with benefits.  Brian’s Service hours are M-F 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.

BRIAN’S SERVICE:  Hardscape foreman

 

Brian’s Service is a rapidly growing outdoor services company based out of Chelsea MI.  We provide full service landscape installation, maintenance work as well as tree work and snow removal.

 

We are blessed to be a rapidly growing company and for the past 5 years we have experienced at least a 25% growth in sales each year.  As a result, we are able to offer extensive and fast advancement for qualified staff.

 

We believe that a crew lead should lead by example for the 2-4 crewmembers under their direction.  The crew lead should set the pace and work with their team to make an exceptional end product.

 

This is a year round position at $50,000 – $70,000 annually.  We offer a profit sharing bonus at Christmas time.  Additionally we take 2 weeks off for Christmas with the exception of snow removal.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience with general landscaping or tree work

  • 5+ years experience with Hardscape installation

    3+ years experience as a Hardscape crew Foreman

  • Extensive experience with driving trucks and trailers

  • Ability to work year round including snow removal

  • Basic knowledge of small engines and equipment repairs and maintenance “Mechanically minded”

  • Be able to nicely and intelligently communicate with customers

  • Extensive experience with skid steers, loaders, and excavation equipment

  • Experience driving large dump trucks or semis
  • Certified Arborist
  • Any other industry experience such as Tree work, Golf Course, Etc.
  • CDL class A License

We believe that our shop manager has a big part in setting the tone of the company.  When crews begin their day in a clean and organized environment with maintained top performing equipment the whole day runs smoothly.

  • This job is a blended role between shop manager, mechanic and crew leader.

  • You will assist crews with more difficult jobs

  • Deliver equipment and materials to crews with trailers or dump trucks

  • Maintain all company trucks, mowers, heavy equipment, etc.

  • Visit job sites to address equipment breakdowns

  • Keep detailed records of maintenance

  • Order more materials/supplies as needed for our warehouse and supply yard

  • Keep the shop and grounds clean and organized

  • When you are needed as a crew lead or supervisor the jobs include:

    • Tree trimming and removal

Brian’s Service is a rapidly growing outdoor services company based out of Chelsea MI.  We provide full service landscape installation, maintenance work as well as tree work and snow removal.

 

We are blessed to be a rapidly growing company and for the past 5 years we have experienced at least a 25% growth in sales each year.  As a result, we are able to offer extensive and fast advancement for qualified staff.

 

We believe that each crew member should set a strong working pace and not need constant direction to continue working.

 

We are looking for people that are able to work year round. (We also have an opening for someone that is just interested in mowing).  During the winter season we do tree work and snow removal.  Snow pays significantly more.  We take 2 weeks off for Christmas with the exception of snow removal.

  • For the mowing crew:  Experience with zero turn, whips, blowers required
